Heating Pads

The heating pads are used for warming up any part of the body. The heating pads are used for heating up different parts of the body in order to control the pain. The local application of the heat causes the blood vessels in that part of the body to expand. It also improves the perfusion to the under attack tissues of the body. There are many several types of heating pads. The types of heating pads contain hot water bottles, chemical heating pads and electrical heating pads.

The chemical heating pads employ a chemical heat reservoir, like the catalyzed rusting of the iron. The sodium acetate heating pads include supersaturated solutions of sodium acetate that heats up the body, by the process of crystallization by pressing up a piece of metal. The heating pads of sodium acetate are entrenched in the liquid. The chemical heating pads can be used many times by placing them in the boiling water for 10 to 15 minutes. If the heating pad returns to the temperature of the room, it can be activated again. The activation of the pad before it reaches the room temperature results in the pad reaching at a lower peak temperature.

The electronic pads are used in the homes and always provide protection to the users against the overheating in a part of body. The electric heating pads are used to prevent many diseases also. The moist heating pads are used at the dry skins of the users. The moist heating pads register temperatures from 170 degree to 180 degree Fahrenheit or 76 to 82 degree Celsius. These heating pads are used mainly by the physical therapists, but suitable for using in the homes. The microwavable heating pads are heating pads that are warmed by placing them in the microwave oven before use. The microwavable heating pads are usually made out of the thick fabrics, like flannel. These heating pads are filled with the grains, like flax seed and buckwheat. These types of heating pads have been known as catch fire during the process of microwave and sometimes it can cause of fires. The compounds of aromatic can be added to the filler combinations to make a pleasant and soothing smell, when it is heated. Many heating pads are portable. The heating pads can be applied as required at office, at home or while traveling. Some expert doctors suggest alternating ice and heat for the respite of pain in any part of body.
